Sam & Max: The animated series was a cartoon on FOX kids, centering around Sam & Max's wild(er) adventures, much to the confusion of many children.

Sam & Max: The animated series was a 1997 FOX kids program featuring Harvey Atkins and Robert Tinkler, this series ran more for children, and as of such, humor was toned down while insanity was driven beyond high hell to compensate. It ran one season and then was cancelled, ending the short, kooky adventures of the freelance police on TV.

The team would later go on to admit they had made something limited by their for-kids rating, and Purcell's vision could have shained through more with more budget, time, and an older intended audience. Would it be released today, it may see better success than it did in it's original debut.
